In this country not all children have equal educational teachings. This is a pet peeve of mine. Public education is for all of the children - regardless of race, religion, home area etc. However, we simply suck at this.
If you live in an affluent area, your children are entitled to the best public education available. But if you are in the poor area of town, you are not treated with the same teaching caliber, the same school technologies, the same sports and arts programs etc.
We are all paying money into our educational school system but not all children are treated equally. What can we do to help our children of all nationalities learn?
Enters Harlem Village Academy - presented in the October Oprah's Magazine - what a phenomenal story and work being done for the underprivileged children. All children can learn!
