A bit of history for you: Memorial Day, an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.  These renditions of the Star Spangled Banner – just shows everyone how patriotic and beautiful this song really is.

You know, there are so many talented people out there and I am just floored by the patriotism that is shown.  So dear friends, colleagues and new people – take a moment, say a prayer, thank all those that have served our country.  And give hugs and lots of encouragement to those that are serving their country today!

My father was in the service and I have his flag that they gave us when he passed away.  It still brings tears – not of sadness, but of love, knowing that my dad served his country – WWII – My children’s dad served in the Navy and my oldest son went into the Navy as well.  We live in a beautiful country, one that gives us many freedoms, and the ability to make what we want for ourselves.  I am thankful each and every day for this beautiful country and for those that give their lives to help us all.

These renditions of our Country’s Song “Star Spangled Banner” are something to cherish and store in our memories forever!
